  3. Main Sources of Grants for your NGO

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) have numerous initiatives. With the number of people experiencing difficulties from developing countries alone, the necessary reasons to help them our are countless. Thus, to actually provide aid, reality kicks in that funds are a requirement and NGOs need to thrive hard if they have to achieve their initiatives. It would be incredibly helpful for NGOs to have various sources for grants and funds, and a few of them are the following:

1.    Bilateral and Multilateral Aid
Many bilateral and multilateral organizations begin as initiatives from developing countries which seek to help developing countries. Popular examples of this are the United Nations, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank. These organizations exist to help slowly eradicate poverty in developing countries. Although many of them have already set out their own initiatives, small parts of their budget will still be dedicated to partnering with NGOs and providing funds to support their projects.

2.    Charities and Foundations
Many private companies support NGOs through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). A number of them provide small grants for NGOs while most of them would prefer to develop partnerships and get involved in the implementation of various projects. Partnering with NGOs and supporting their projects will also be favorable to corporations as it will help relieve them of some taxes.

3.    Government
Part of your local government’s budget will be dedicated to initiatives which may be in line with the projects your NGO has planned. Most local government officials will not be able to implement projects on their own so they themselves seek guidance from those whom they believe can be successful in the implementation of projects. In this case, they trust NGOs to be fully capable, but also look into the proposals to confirm their belief. This can be highly competitive and developing a healthy partnership is necessary in acquiring your desired continual partnership with the government.

Listed above were the main sources of grants for NGOs. Small grants for NGOs in developing countries are widely available when you look at the right sources. Sources such as nonprofit funding directories, particular websites and agencies will ultimately guide NGOs in seeking for their grants. Although NGOs are known by the public to be the ones in charge of providing the needs of those who aren’t capable of providing for themselves, their need for money to begin projects aren’t seen as much. The public needs to know of the initiatives your NGO has as well as your need for funds.
